Most of the wards accompanied by their parents Those reluctant to get back to school end up late
happy reunion: It was back to school for over 12 lakh children and needless to say, they were excited about meeting friends. HYDERABAD: It was back to school for all the students in twin cities after a long summer vacation when the schools reopened on Thursday morning. With their new uniforms and bags, water-bottles and other paraphernalia, it was a familiar sight of children alighting from autorickshaws and buses and trooping into the school. Most of the wards were accompanied by their parents on the first day of school. Bright uniformsThe lanes and bylanes of several residential localities too started ringing with the morning hour buzz with children dressed in their bright uniforms, waiting for their autowallahs or huddled together with their schoolmates at the bus stop waiting for the school bus to come by. “I have been waiting to get back to school and I’m looking forward to meet my friends. Holidays were fun for a while but then I got bored,” beamed Rana Yash Singh, a 4th class student from Johans High School. Stephen Lawrence and Stephen Dominic, brothers and students of Little Flower High School looked quite excited to be back in the school premises. “The holidays were amazing, but we are happy to be back amongst all our friends,” they said. There were also those who didn’t want the vacations to end and Sai Kiran, a 9th class student from All Saints High School was one of them. “I wish the vacation was extended by some more days,” was his lament. Anxious parentsThere were some more like Sai Kiran who were reluctant to get back to school and ended up being late. As some students of St. George Grammar School for Boys were late for the school, their anxious parents hung around until they were let inside the school premises. “I hope they will let the children without trouble,” said Srinivas who was there to drop his son at the school.
