Appeal to government
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy has appealed to the government to run the proposed higher education universities in the State directly and not to allow private parties to run them.
In a statement here on Thursday, Mr. Krishnasswamy said there was a lurking fear among educationists that if aided private colleges and government colleges were allowed to become universities as per the government’s move, it would affect poor students. The government should not give room for this and should make education available to all, he added. — Special Correspondent
