CPI (M) takes action against Govindasamy
CHENNAI: The CPI (M) has removed C. Govindasamy from the post of legislature party leader, and replaced him with K. Balabharathi, deputy leader of the party in the House.
Ms. Balabharathi was elected from the Dindigul Assembly constituency.
The party’s State secretary N.Varadarajan said Mr. Govindasamy had brought disrepute to the party by his activities. He had also been dropped from the State committee of the party. N. Nanmaran, the party’s whip, has been made deputy leader of the party.
He was elected from the Madurai East constituency. S.K. Mahendran representing Perambur constituency has become the whip. — Special Correspondent
