DDA restrained
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has restrained the Delhi Development Authority from building a boundary wall around a proposed graveyard at Fazal Enclave Part-II in South Delhi.
A Vacation Bench of the Court comprising Justice S.N. Aggarwal and Justice Sunil Gaur passed the stay order on a petition by some residents of the colony submitting that the land on which the DDA was building the boundary wall belonged to them. They submitted that the DDA had demolished certain portions of their private properties to build the boundary wall.
Opposing the petitioners’ contention, counsel for the DDA submitted that his client was building the boundary wall on its own land. Earlier, the Court had asked the Delhi Government and the DDA to file status reports but only the Government had filed a report saying that the land belonged to the colony.
