Lightning claims woman’s life

SIRSI: Jayanti Manjayya Devadiga (22) of Tattihaklu near Shirali in Bhatkal taluk died on Friday morning after lightning struck her.

She was on her way to fetch water from a nearby well when the incident occurred. Her sister Nirmala Manjayya Devadiga (18) was injured.

Nirmala was admitted in a hospital at Kundapur. Bhatkal MLA J.D. Naik, taluk panchayat president Parameshwar Devadiga and zilla panchayat member Subadra Devadiga visited the kin of the victim.
