Bagalkot: Deputy Commissioner G.N. Nayak has said that the district will not face shortage of seeds and fertilizers this season as it had enough stock. Addressing pressperson here, he said that 3,600 tonnes of seeds was in stock in the district as against the demand of 510 tonnes for the kharif season. So far, 1,496 tonnes of fertilizers had been distributed to small and marginal farmers, he said. Koramandal Fertilizers Ltd. had promised to provide 1,900 tonnes of fertilizers to meet the increasing demand, he added. Chief Executive Officer of Bagalkot Zilla Panchayat Govindraj said that seeds would be distributed to farmers even on all holidays and Sundays, he said.
