‘Kavacham’ weighs 10 kg and worth Rs 1.3 crore PUDUCHERRY: The presiding deity of the Manakula Vinayagar Temple on Friday was adorned with a gold ‘kavacham’ weighing 10 kg and worth Rs 1.3 crore. Immediately after the armour was placed on the deity, special pujas were performed. The funds for the kavacham were contributed by the devotees over the years, according to temple authorities. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Collector G. Theva Neethi Dhas and local MLA S. P Sivakumar were present on the occasion.
