Dacoit killed in encounter in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW: Dacoit Nadiya alias Teja and his associate Sonveer were gunned down by the police in an encounter in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

The encounter, which began at 4.45 a.m., lasted for about an hour in Barua Ki Khaar.

Nadiya, who was active in the Chambal and Yamuna ravines in Etawah, Auraiya and Kanpur Nagar districts, carried a reward of Rs. 30,000. He shot into limelight in March when his gang killed five members of a Dalit family in Aminabad village.
