Power sector PSUs headless
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The “non-serious and ad hoc” approach of the UPA Government and the Union Power Ministry on the appointment of regular heads of various public sector undertakings, including those companies with Navratna status, has badly hit the working of these organisations.
The latest to be impacted by the indecision and indifferent approach has been the profit-making Power Grid Corporation. Earlier, it was the NTPC that faced uncertainty in the appointment of a new head till the eleventh hour. Although the former PGCIL Chairman, R. P. Singh, had announced his decision to resign nearly two months back, the Government has failed to put in place his permanent successor.
