Thumping win for Jawahar SC

BANGALORE: M.R. Darshan scalped four wickets as Jawahar SC defeated Basavangudi XI by 109 runs in a Vayusena Cup match here on Friday. Jawahar made 238 and Basavangudi was dismissed for 129.

In another match, Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) defeated Swastic Union CC by 45 runs.

The scores:

Jawahar SC 238 for nine in 30 overs (M.K. Manjunath 65, C.B. Karthik 61, Savan four for 32) bt Basavangudi XI 129 in 27.3 overs (M.R. Darshan four for 23).

Rail Wheel Factory 167 for nine in 30 overs (Deepak Chougule four for 22) bt Swastic Union 122 in 24.3 overs (Mayank Agarwal 48).

Nikhil is skipper

M.N. Nikhil and C.G. Aishwarya will lead the State teams in the National sub-junior basketball championship to be held at Kapurthala, Punjab, from June 15.

The teams: Boys: M.N. Nikhil (capt.), Kiran Kumar, Chandrakanth Reddy, Jitender Singh, M. Sharath, Nihal Kumar, Shivaswaroop, K. Alok, Ramesh Choudhry, Saikeshava and Praveen Desai.

Girls: C.G. Aishwaya (capt.), Flora S. Grace, Steffi Catherine, Aparna, Rakshitha, Sushma, N. Ankitha, Diya Devaiah, Ragini Gopi, Ashika D’Souza and Sharanya Rao.

Inter-club squash

Karnataka Badminton Association will host an inter-club squash tournament at its courts here from June 24 to 27.
