ONGC enters final
NEW DELHI: Defending champion ONGC reached the final of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt memorial cricket tournament beating Sonnet Club 2-0 in a ‘bowl out’ following a rain-affected semifinal at the St. Stephen’s ground here Friday.
Half-centuries by Yashpal Singh (63) and Manan Sharma (53) helped Sonnet Club reach 241 for eight in 40 overs. In reply, ONGC was 17 for one in 3.4 overs when rain intervened.
In Sunday’s final, ONGC will take on Air India.
The scores: Sonnet Club 241 for eight in 40 overs (Yashpal Singh 63, Manan Sharma 53, Mayank Sidhana 45, Rushil Bhasker 36, Sumit Narwal three for 39) lost to ONGC 17 for one in 3.4 overs in a ‘bowl out.’ _ Sports Reporter
