Man dies of Anthrax

KORAPUT: Anthrax has killed yet another person in Semiliguda block of Koraput district when Rabi Sisha, a 26-year-old youth from Hadiguda village died of the infection on Thursday night. According to the villagers, Rabi had consumed the meat of a dead cow along with 12 more persons a few days back, which had caused the infection.

It might be recalled that a massive health campaign was initiated in the block recently to control the infection in Mantriput, Kutugaon and Kantaguda villages in the block. Vaccination to the cattle was also carried out on a large scale.

However a medical team has reached the village today.
