New ecotourism centres
Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Forest Department is converting its timber depots in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka into tourist information and facilitation centres.
Forest Minister Benoy Viswom told journalists that he would lay the foundation stone for the Kerala Wildlife Tourism Information Centre proposed to be set up at the former timber depot in Pollachi in Tamil Nadu.
The Minister said the Centre in Pollachi, which is 39 km. from the Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, would become the portal to people coming from other States to the Sanctuary.
