New scheme introduced

Tuticorin: The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has introduced a technology upgradation scheme to promote production and export of value-added marine products.

Under the scheme, assistance will be extended to exporters for setting up new units and expanding existing production capacity to make value-added fish products, S. Asok Kumar, Assistant Director, MPEDA, said.
