Djokovic beats Hewitt

London: Lleyton Hewitt’s bid for a record fifth Queen’s title was halted by Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Hewitt, 27, was hoping to pull clear of Andy Roddick, John McEnroe and Boris Becker, who all own four titles at the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event, but the Australian will have to wait another year after being dismantled 6-2, 6-2.

Bhupathi-Bopanna pair in last eight

Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna reached the men’s doubles quarterfinals without playing a single match after the Indian Davis Cuppers got a walkover in the second round.

The eighth seeded Indian pair had got a bye in the first round.

In the second round, they were to face Chilean Fernando Gonzalez and Ecuadorean Nicolas Lapentti, who opted out of the contest.
