Woman found dead

A 25-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her house in Ponnur on Friday. Her relatives, who suspected the hand of the husband, beat him up and handed him over to the police.

According to the police, Khayyum Basha, a school teacher was married to Nazma eight years ago and the couple had a son and a daughter. Of late, he was accustomed to bad habits and allegedly beating up his wife. On Friday, he called up a couple of relatives and told them that his wife was found hanging.
