BDA recovers property worth Rs. 29 crore

BANGALORE: Prime property worth Rs. 23 crore was recovered at J.P. Nagar 8th Phase Layout by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Friday.

A release from BDA said that it had notified five acres 30 guntas of land in Survey No. 169/3 and 169/5 of Kothanur village, Uttarahalli Hobli, Bangalore South taluk for formation of J.P. Nagar 8th Phase. However, those who owned revenue sites had gone to court and later put up three RCC buildings and six AC sheets sheds in the notified area.

After the vacation of court cases, the BDA Task Force demolished the RCC buildings and sheds and an area of five acres and 30 guntas of land worth Rs. 23 crore were recovered on Friday.

Complex demolished

In another operation, the task force demolished a commercial complex in Rajajinagar 1st Block, adjacent to service road of West of Chord, which had come up on BDA land. The value of property recovered has been estimated at Rs. 6 crore.

A release said that Keshav Iyengar in connivance with BDA officials had created fictitious documents and sold the property to G. Markendaya Naidu who constructed a three-storeyed commercial complex with a cellar. After vacation of all the cases in the court in favour of BDA, it evicted the traders in the complex and took possession of the building.
