Judicial custody for 2 Haryana policemen accused of rape
ROHTAK: A local court on Saturday remanded two dismissed Haryana policemen, charged with raping a woman from Rohtak who subsequently committed suicide, to judicial custody for 14 days.
The accused — Balraj and Seelak Ram — were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Bhupinder Nath here on the expiry of three days of police custody. Public Prosecutor Surender Pahwa sought judicial custody for both the accused.
Defence counsels R.C. Dalal and Surender Verma pleaded for scientific tests to enable the accused to prove their innocence.
Remanding the duo to judicial custody, the CJM fixed July 8 as the date for arguments on the accused’s application for narco analysis. The rape incident took place on April 10. — PTI
