Goldsmith earns place in records book
Staff Reporter
Kakinada: Chelluri Satyanarayana, a Kakinada-based goldsmith, earned a place in the Limca Book of Records for the third year in a row for miniature items made of gold.
A simple balance that weighs just 6 grams and measures 3 cm high, 3 cm long and 1 cm wide is what secured his place in the Limca Book a few days ago. It was applied for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records. Satyanarayana got the entry into Limca book of Records in 2006 for a simple balance which was slightly larger (made of 14 grams gold) than the present one and an umbrella that weighed five 5 grams in gold, according to a press release by him.
A giant wheel and a small car were among other miniature items carved out of pure gold by Satyanarayana and he won a special appreciation of collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi recently.
