Tuticorin: The police seized counterfeit currencies with a face value of Rs.82,000 near the Kovilpatti railway station and arrested six persons on Friday. Official sources said that the notes were recovered after a special team led by Inspector M.V.S. Raghunathan caught R. Ayalraj (62), S. Arumugasamy (30), Petchiappan (37), A. Sudalai (42), S. Palanisamy (45) and K. Kanniyappan (40). Interrogation revealed that they received the notes from Syed Akbar of Sivakasi, who is now at large.
