TTD staff serve dharna notice

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: Leaders of the TTD Employees Association, peeved over the delay in the management expediting their ‘house site’ matter even six months after the foundation stone was laid for the works at the Brahmanapattu village near here, have threatened to go on a mass dharna in front of the Administrative Building here from June 26 if the management failed to keep up its promise to implement all their demands by June 25.

The Association leaders along with the heads of the trade union wings took a delegation to the TTD’s Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary and served the dharna notice which also contained a long list of their 21-point charter of demands. Significantly, the union leaders also expressed concern over the TTD of late ‘frittering away’ its precious funds on a number of ‘needless programmes’ rather ‘unilaterally’. They also expressed concern that such ‘drains’ on the funds of the TTD put a shadow on the financial stability of the TTD in meeting its huge day-to-day budget and in meeting the needs of the pilgrims and employees. They called upon the management to cut down the expenses on ‘unnecessary programmes’ and increase its investment in Bank Fixed Deposits.
