Kozhikode: A special crime squad led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) C.M. Pradipkumar on Sunday nabbed a person involved in 22 cases of thefts and housebreaks at various places in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts. The team arrested V.P. Sivadasan, hailing from Vazhakkad in Malappuram district, near the Chelavoor mosque here in the morning. On interrogation, it was found that the accused had carried out most of the thefts at Bhagavati, Shiva, Vishnu and Lakshmi- Narasimha temples in these districts. He was also involved in a theft at a mosque at Narikunni. He was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court-I here and remanded. Last month, the Nallalam- Cheruvannur police had arrested his accomplice Abdul Karim, hailing from Edavannapara, Malappuram district.
