Call to give particulars of maids to police

VIJAYAWADA: Commissioner of Police A.V. Rajendranath Reddy on Sunday advised residents not to keep large amounts of cash and jewellery at home, and suggested them to use bank lockers as a safety measure.

While inaugurating the intercom facility installed at the cost of Rs. 2.80 lakhs by the Indira Enclave Apartments at Ayodhyanagar by the owners’ association, he asked the office-bearers to spruce up barbed wires on the compound wall. “The measures suggested by the police department are for the safety of the residents and I appreciate the Indira Enclave Owners’ Association for installing the intercom in the 178 dwellings,” he added.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Sri Ramachandra Murthy advised the residents to inform the police station about the particulars of the maids so that the police can verify their credentials.

Indira Enclave Owners’ Association chairman A.V. Subba Raju promised to bear 50 per cent of the cost for the barbed wire installation on the compound walls of the complex.

Association president Y. Siva Prasad, secretary M. Sarat Chandra and others took part in the function.
