Botsa tells people to confront Naidu

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana has asked people to confront TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu during his ‘Mee Kosam’ yatra that begins in the district from June 17.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he recalled how Mr. Naidu scrapped the Rs.2-a-kg rice scheme, diluted prohibition and made no attempt to stop migration of labour in the district. He said that Mr. Naidu who is now acting himself as the champion of farmers’ cause was now promising nine-hour power supply when he actually ordered their arrests for non-payment of power dues in the past.

With regard to relief and rehabilitation (R&R) package for families displaced by Thotapalli project, the Minister conceded minor lapses and said that they would be settled shortly. He said that the government would not remain silent if the CPI(M) hindered progress of work on the project.

Denies allegation

On encroachment of land, the Minister refuted the Opposition charge that his brother encroached government land at Kanapaka. However, the administration would not remain a mute spectator to such incidents, he said and asked the parties to file writ petition.
