Two commit suicide

Tuticorin: Two women committed suicide by self-immolation in separate incidents in the district on Saturday.

Lakshmi (18), daughter of Murugan, took the extreme step at Murapanadu after she was bothered by chronic stomach ailment for many months despite receiving medical attention.

On another incident, Thangapoovammal, an octogenarian, ended her life at her house at Arumuganeri owing to family problems. The police have registered cases.
