Drains desiltation

The GHMC has finally woken up to the tardy works progress of desiltation of storm water drains having decided to deploy more machines and men. Senior officials including engineers inspected the chronic stagnation points at Balkapur nala, Ahmednagar, Hakeempet, Langar Houz, Katora Houz, Shatam tank in the judistriction of Central zone on Sunday. The Additional Commissioner (Works) M. Rajeswara Rao urged the sanitation wing to provide more garbage points and strengthen door-to-door collection to prevent throwing of waste into the drains, a press release said.
