Bangalore: Three persons travelling in a car died when their vehicle rammed a retaining wall of a concrete culvert while the driver reportedly made an attempt to avoid hitting a two-wheeler near Hunasemaranahalli between Bangalore and Devanahalli on National Highway 7 on Sunday. The police have identified the victims as Lakshman (32), a owner of a hardware shop, Suresh (30), employee of a private company in Peenya, and Nagaraj (30), a physical trainer in a private school at Malleswaram. All were residents of Basaveshwaranagar and married. The police, quoting eyewitnesses as saying, said that the car had rolled over thrice after hitting the culvert. While Suresh, who was driving, and Nagaraj died on the spot, Lakshman was pronounced dead in a hospital. The car belonged to a private firm in Peenya where Suresh was working, the police said and added that Suresh had take the car to his home last night after taking permission from the company. The police, quoting victims’ family members as saying, said that three left home in the morning on a picnic. Though some eyewitnesses had claimed that the accident took place as the driver tried to avoid hitting a two-wheeler, the police were finding it difficult to accept this version as there was no provision of crossing on the highway, where the accident took place at 5 p.m. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic-North) K.H. Chandrashekar visited the spot. Found deadAnand (31), a resident of Anekal, was found dead in Bannerghatta reserved forest area on Sunday. The police said the crime might have taken place about two or three days ago. The victim was an agriculturist and was also into real estate business. Bannerghatta police have registered a case.
