Karthik open to alliances

Special Correspondent

Udhagamandalam: “Without compromising on the ideology of my party, alliances will be considered,” said founder-president of the Agila Indhiya Naadalum Makkal Katchi, M. Karthik, addressing a press conference here on Sunday.

“So far I have not received any feelers from any party,” he said. Coming down hard on politicians who made empty promises, he attributed the various ills confronting the country to lack of foresight and corruption.

Underscoring the importance of youth power in bringing about changes, Mr. Karthik said that politicians should stop making tall claims. On price rise, he said that instead of indulging in a blame game, those at the helm of affairs should accept the fact that the unfortunate situation could have been avoided had they been careful.
