Hand spray machines distributed

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Municipality on Monday distributed hand spray machines to the ward councillors for mosquito-control activities in the wards.

Chairperson of the Municipality B. Sridevi said 42 hand spray machines were purchased at a cost of Rs. 1.80 lakh. Mosquito control pesticides including pyrethine worth Rs. seven lakh were also distributed to the councillors. “The hand spray machines were distributed to carry out mosquito-control measures in each ward. The Municipality will depute a person to carry out the field-level works in every ward. The councillors along with the sanitary inspectors would be in-charge,” she said.
