Fishermen stage demo

PUDUCHERRY: A group of fishermen belonging to the Veerampattinam village on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the office of the Puducherry Fishermen Cooperative Federation at Odiansalai to protest the delay in providing compensation for the period when ban on trawling was in force.

The fishermen tried to lock the officials of the Cooperative Federation in their cabin but police prevented them from doing so. — Staff Reporter
