Thrissur: In a tragic incident, two women and three of their children drowned in Puthurpuzha near Ollur in Thrissur district on Monday. The deceased were identified as Reji, 36, wife of Chirammel Antony of Mount Road in Puthur; her children Thejil, 10, and Ajil, 8; Roji, 30, wife of Antony of Neyyan house; and her son Jees, 8. Reji and Roji were siblings. They had gone to the river with their children to take bath and wash clothes. When the children slipped into the water, the women jumped in to save them. But all of them drowned, the police said.
