For a Better life: Students listening to a lecture on Scientology in Udhagamandalam on Monday. – Udhagamandalam: A fortnight long exhibition on, ‘Scientology’ got underway on Mahatma Gandhi maidan here on Monday. It was inaugurated by Udhagamandalam Municipal Council chairman R. Rajendran. Pointing out that scientology was founded and promoted world wide by Nebraska-born L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology Director Marion Whitta told The Hindu that it improves conditions in life and provides spiritual answers. While it is not based on any particular religion, practice of scientology helps people who find it difficult to think clearly. Stating that it was a practical philosophy, which aims at improving the quality of life, she said that lectures and classes are also organised. During the course of their tour in India, a number of people have benefited from their courses.
