“Develop positive attitude”

Sivaganga Collector’s advice to boost efficiency of Government employees

KARAIKUDI: The Collector, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, has called upon the Government employees to develop positive attitude in order to improve the overall efficiency required to serve the people.

“The poor invariably knock the doors of the Government offices for various reasons. It is our prime responsibility to hear their grievances and take necessary follow up actions. We should feel their feelings. If we develop positive attitude with positive mindset, we can serve them better,” he said.

Presiding over the valediction of a three-day experiential living training for the gazetted officers here on Saturday, Mr. Bansal said rich people hardly approached the Government offices, as they might not require the services of except on a few occasions. Poor people mostly depended upon the Government for welfare measures. Hence, officers and employees must understand the expectations of them approaching offices.

Appreciating the interest shown by the officers to attend the residential programme, he said it was to motivate them that the District Administration had arranged a human resource management training programme for all top officials. It would not only motivate them, but also fine-tune the body and mind. Many people had not fully understood their hidden talents. Each one had unlimited capacity of talents. Opportunities must be given to them to prove their mettle. Developing positive thinking and realising their potential would lead to dream, which was vital for action and success.

Mr. Bansal said that the district administration would take a number of steps to mould the officials to extract work from subordinates that would benefit the poor.

I. Ilamathian, Registrar, Alagappa University, said that it was high time to make the people including officials to understand their inherent abilities. Enhancing managerial skills would augment the output in a professional manner.

M. Parivallal, Chief Coach, The Training People, said they were given training on various aspects such as physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. It was certain that their outlook about work culture, attitude, planning and execution would improve.
