Swimming meetThe Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will organise the annual open swimming championship on June 21 at the GHMC Swimming Pool (Secunderabad) from 9 a.m. Competitions will be held for medallists and non-medallists in different events. Entries close on June 20 and should be sent to G. Umesh, Tournament Secretary, at the venue. Chess tournamentThe Andhra Pradesh Chess Association will organise its State championship for boys and girls (u-11) at the Vasavi Auditorium (Tadepalligudem) on June 28 and 29. Volleyball tourneyThe Paradise Persis Gold Cup volleyball tournament for boys’ (U-16) will be held at the Audiah Nagar Play Grounds, near Bible House, Secunderabad from June 23. Twelve teams from coaching camps and schools will compete in the knockout format tournament in the evenings. The competition is sponsored by the Paradise Hotel.
