Rain likely

A low pressure has formed over the north Bay of Bengal and intensified into a depression which lays centred about 220 km. south east of Kolkota at 8.30 a.m. on Monday.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-westerly direction and cross Bangladesh coast by Monday evening or night, according to a press release from the Cyclone Warning Centre here.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain is also likely at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
