Woman dies of burns
A 23-year-old woman, Jacqueline, died after she immolated herself on Sunday. According to ICF police, Jacqueline and her husband John Asirvatham, a carpenter in a furnishing centre in ICF, fought over his decision to let his brother stay in their house. John Asirvatham had begun building a shed for his younger brother who had recently had a kidney transplant. Jacqueline objected to this and when her husband went ahead with the construction of the shed, she doused herself with kerosene and lit herself. An RDO inquiry has been instituted.
