Threat letters sent to station masters

TIRUCHI: Two threat letters were sent to the railway station masters of Ariyalur and Srirangam on Tuesday claiming of terror attacks if the ban on Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam was not lifted. Railway Police said the typed letter sent to the Ariyalur station master in the morning threatened that “Ariyalur railway station will become the victim of terror attack if the ban on LTTE is not lifted.” It further said that the “Indian Government should lift the ban on LTTE, otherwise a powerful bomb will kill innocent passengers at Ariyalur.” A similar letter was received by the Srirangam railway station master in the evening.
