Wise advice: DRDA Project Director K. Ashok Reddy counselling ST students in Kadapa on Tuesday. KADAPA: Students passing SSC from Government Social Welfare Scheduled Tribes hostels with over 400 marks will be admitted into Intermediate through ‘Kadapa Rathnalu Trust’, DRDA Project Director K. Ashok Reddy said on Tuesday. Speaking in the counselling session at DRDA Technical Training Development Centre (TTDC) for OC, BC and minority students passing SSC from social welfare and ST welfare hostels, Mr. Ashok Reddy said the Trust would educate all those who could not afford collegiate education. One hundred and twenty five poor students from 10 mandals and 200 SC/ST students and others from remaining 40 mandals would be imparted education through the department. The government would extend free education to 87 per cent of the 200 SC/ST students. The remaining 13 per cent would be granted 50 per cent governmental grant besides 50 per cent loan from Common Good Fund. Of 80 seats earmarked for ST Department, 5 SCs, 70 STs, 3 BCs, 4 OCs were selected to Intermediate.
