Heroin seized

Gurdaspur: Thirteen kg of heroin with a street value of Rs.13 crore was seized and two persons arrested in this connection at Dera Baba Nanak sector in the district on Tuesday.

On a tip off, police apprehended Gurlal Singh and Darshan Singh, Gurdaspur SSP Lok Nath Angra said.

The accused have been booked under the NDPS Act.

Gurlal Singh, a wanted narcotic peddler active for about 11 years, told police that the heroin was smuggled from across the border to Dera Baba Nanak sector. Darshan Singh had also figured in several narcotic smuggling cases.
