Five killed as bus, van collide

NAMAKKAL: Five persons were killed, and 12 others injured, when a van and a State Transport Corporation bus collided near here on Tuesday.

The police said Sethuraman (45) of Aruppukottai, a mill owner, and his family members were returning home from Bellary in Karnataka. Sethuraman, his wife Radha, brothers Pothiraj and Chennakesavan, all relatives of Dindigul Collector R. Vasuki, and van driver Sivakumar were killed on the spot.

The Nallipalayam police have registered a case.
