Mayor patches up with corporator

KURNOOL: Mayor S. Raghurami Reddy patched up with corporator from second ward, Ramani, promising her to put on hold the road widening works.

Ms. Ramani staged a 24-hour sit-in at the corporation opposing the widening of road, which would reduce the space in the Municipal Open Air theatre. The Mayor assured her that the proposal was put off for the time being.

Meanwhile, women led by AIDWA and other organisations laid siege to the Municipal Corporation Office protesting against the delay in giving financial assistance to SHGs. The dharna went on till the evening.
