Draft Devaswom Bill

Thiruvananthapuram: The draft of the bill titled the Guruvayur Devaswom (Amendment) Bill 2008 which the government proposes to bring forward for the purpose has been published. The government is planning to amend the Guruvayur Devaswom Act of 1978 to entrust the appointments of employees in the administrative service of the Devaswom to the PSC. The other aim is to utilise the funds of the Devaswom for more noble purposes and the benefit of the Hindu community. — Special correspondent
