Chipli, Bhatkal and Joshi shine

BANGALORE: Centuries by Bharath Chipli and Raju Bhatkal and Sunil Joshi’s six-wicket haul helped Canara Bank defeat AGORC by 181 runs in a KSCA Group II first division league match here recently.

The scores:

Canara Bank 307 for three in 31.2 overs (Bharath Chipli 113, Raju Bhatkal 102 n.o., B. Rajashekar 46) bt AGORC 126 in 22 overs (Sunil Joshi six for 43).

RWF 152 in 38.2 overs (Shoaib Manager 42, N. Aravind six for 47, Syed Nooruddin four for 37) lost to SBM 156 for eight in 40.1 overs (Chethan William 63, Shoaib Manager five for 54).

Bodybuilding competition

RWF triumphs

Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) Sports Association emerged champion in the HCL Vayusena Cup tournament that concluded here recently. In the final, RWF defeated Social Cricketers by three wickets.

RWF’s V. Cheluvaraj won the ‘man of the match’ award.

The scores (final): Social Cricketers 160 in 38.2 overs lost to RWF 163 for seven in 38.4 overs.

Ball badminton meet

A State-level ball badminton tournament will be held at the MEI Layout ground here on June 28 and 29. For details, call 9900228111.

Volleyball league

The Karnataka Olympic Association will conduct an ‘Olympic Day’ run at Tumkur for men, women, boys and girls on June.22. All participants would be awarded certificates signed by IOC president.
