VIJAYAWADA: Expressing happiness over the good response received from many youngsters to the month-long free computer training programme conducted by the Lanco Institute of General Humanitarian Trust (LIGHT), the social service wing of the Lanco group, local MP and LIGHT chairman Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday announced that the trust would take up many more training programmes for the youth in the days to come.

Addressing the valedictory of the training programme, Mr. Rajagopal said the objective of the LIGHT was to serve the needy with a special focus on youth and the disabled. The month-long training programme was conducted in 25 centres in Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency, including 10 centres in the city. Over 1,700 students completed the training successfully, and they were presented certificates at the valedictory held at Montessori Mahila Kalasala auditorium.

Mr. Rajagopal said he was delighted to observe how the levels of confidence had gone up among the students who had undergone the training. Lauding the activities of the LIGHT, Mayor Mallika Begum said the trust was striving for the uplift of the women and minorities. Vijayawada East MLA Sk. Nasar Vali, former Mayor Jandhyala Shankar and director of Montessori Mahila Kalasala V. Koteswaramma were also present.
