Fraudster held

Hyderabad: City police on Tuesday arrested one Bandi Durga Prasad, 44, who allegedly secured loans worth several lakh rupees from banks by presenting fictitious documents. Two of his associates, Srinivas Pathi and Joyed Hussain, are still at large.

An amount of Rs. 6.5 lakh, a laptop and a mobile phone were recovered from the arrested person. A graduate in arts and diploma holder in computer applications, Prasad secured job in an IT firm submitting fake engineering degree.

Stolen mobiles

City Police on Tuesday recovered 71 stolen mobile phones with the arrest of two persons, Mohd. Azeem, 25, and Syed Jaweed, 25.

Extortion charge

Task Force officials on Tuesday arrested four persons on charge of attempting to extort Rs. 50 lakh from a businessman.Mohd. Khaiser Hussain and four others were earlier involved in many criminal cases.
