SFI activists stage dharna

Protest against introduction of English medium in some schools
GUNTUR: Young students from various schools and Students Federation of India activists organised a dharna in front of the main gate of the zilla parishad administrative building here on Tuesday to protest against the introduction of English medium in some schools.
The Minister for School Education and Guntur district in-charge Minister, who was holding a meeting on providing loan relief to farmers with elected representatives and officials, was stopped at the gate when she tried to leave the hall. Children slept in the portico of the building seeking an answer from the Minister.
The Minister asked the SFI not to organised such protest, but hold talks with her so that all issues of supply of books, quality of teaching or any other doubt they had were clarified.
There would be no discrimination in the ZP or Government schools in the name of new Success schools, she said.
