Jaipur economist to help set up Water Academy

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture, Abu Dhabi, has sought the assistance of Jaipur-based economist Vijay Shankar Vyas in the establishment of an Arab Water Academy to enhance the management skills of practitioners in the water sector. The academy will work as a forum to organise productive workshops and seminars.

Prof. Vyas will attend the first strategic workshop designed to outline the work plan for the academy being held in Abu Dhabi from July 6 to 8. The Director-General of the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture, Shawki M. Barghouti, said in a communiqué to Prof. Vyas that the academy would deal with strategic regional and national issues affecting the water sector in West Asia and form a bridge between the academic institutions and field training and application.
