Beware of fake varsities: Arjun

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The government has cautioned parents and students against enrolment in “unrecognised or dubious” educational institutions. Its advice comes just as the academic session is about to begin and on the heels of the University Grants Commission identifying 21 “fake universities.”

In an appeal to students, Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh said: “You should not merely go by advertisements issued in the media by higher educational institutions, but satisfy yourselves by all counts in respect of quality and statutory recognition.” These included the courses offered by them.
