MALAPPURAM: The M.E.S. College of Engineering at Kuttippuram in Malappuram district will host a week-long training programme for the faculty of technical institutions as well as engineers from technical industries. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) will sponsor the training programme on ‘marketing strategies for small and medium enterprises in the changing global scenario’. The college’s Mechanical Engineering Department will host the short-term training programme (STTP) beginning on Monday. Rahumathunza I., coordinator of the programme, said that experts from various fields would attend the programme, which would cover topics such as marketing strategy for self-help groups and micro enterprises, marketing strategy for small and medium enterprises, exploring global market for regional products, challenges and issues of Internet-based marketing on ICT platform, ICT based marketing with special emphasis on agro sector and need of e-learning and e-governance to meet the challenges in the changing economic scenario. The programme will also include interaction with entrepreneurs, special session on marketing strategy of building customer trust, AGMARKNET and market information, and industrial visits.
