Debt relief recommended

MALAPPURAM: The sitting of the Farmers’ Debt Relief Commission continued for the second day at the Government Guest House here on Wednesday. The Commission recommended a debt relief of Rs.10,71,066 to be given to 58 farmers affected by natural disasters. The cooperative banks that had given loans to the farmers agreed to waive Rs.89,033.

Two benches of the Commission heard cases of 103 farmers.

The bench comprising Varghese George and N.J. Jacob considered 52 applications and settled 46 of them.
